Homework has an important role in supporting and consolidating pupils’ learning and providing opportunities for pupils to extend and deepen their thinking through imaginative open ended activities. We use a grid approach to homework that includes homework choices linked to all curriculum subjects. Children also complete maths, reading and spelling homework to support their learning in these areas.
Children choose a homework task to complete each week.
When a task has been completed the box can be coloured in to show it has been completed.
Homework should be returned on a Wednesday and new homework will be issued on a Friday.
In KS1 homework will follow a two-weekly cycle alternating between grid and math homework.
When homework has been completed the box can be coloured in to show it has been completed.
Homework should be written in pencil (at least one sentence including capital letters, full stops, gaps between words and spelling using phonics as much as possible).
Pictures can also be drawn using pencil crayons or photographs can be stuck in the homework books.
All maths homework should be completed in the purple homework books not in the text books.
Homework should be returned on a Wednesday and new homework will be issued on a Friday.
Every week, each child should choose one homework task from the grid.
Homework can be written, be in picture form, can be drawn or photographs can be stuck in the purple homework books, depending on the task. (Year 3 and 4 pencil only, no biro or pens please.)
In addition, every week each child should complete the task set from the math homework book.
All math homework should be completed in the purple homework books not in the text books.
Homework should be returned on a Wednesday and new homework will be issued on a Friday.
