There are strong links between St James Church and school: our foundation governors play an important role in helping to shape the school and in supporting school events.
As well as regular worship in church, we hold special services in church for Harvest, Christmas, Easter and at the end of the school year. The children enjoy the opportunity to sing, pray, perform and share their work with a wider congregation. The children also visit the church for lessons relating to various aspects of the curriculum.
All of our children have the opportunity to visit York Minster for workshops, learning walks and the opportunity for quiet reflection. At the end of the summer term our leavers attend the Leavers’ Service at Ripon Cathedral.
